Christina Espinal joins the Sharks from Steele Canyon High School in Spring Valley, California. The 5-foot-2 midfielder is pursuing a degree in Biology with a concentration in Human Health Studies at Hawai?i Pacific.

Espinal was a four-year varsity soccer player under head coach Joseph Gelaro, earning an impressive list of accolades throughout her prep career. She was a two-time CIF Grossmont Hills League First Team selection, a two-time Steele Canyon High School MVP, and a two-time recipient of the school's Captain's Award. She also earned Athlete of the Month honors during the 2024-25 season, was named the Grossmont Conference Freshman of the Year in 2022-23, and received Academic Honors all four years of high school.

Espinal chose HPU because of the positive culture and environment created by head coach Connor, as well as the opportunity to continue competing at a high level while experiencing life in Hawai?i. Away from the pitch, she enjoys spending time at the beach with friends, movie and game nights, and growing in her faith through church and reading God's Word. Looking ahead, she hopes to become a physical therapist working with a collegiate or professional sports team while remaining close to her hometown of San Diego.
