Personal: Born in Essex, England…parents are Debbie and Greg Defreitas... has a brother Jake (24)...  hobbies include playing video games, hanging out with friends, and eating…favorite food is Lasagna…favorite movies are Coach Carter, More Than A Game, and Rush Hour…favorite artists are Ace Hood, Drake, and G-Eazy …favorite athlete is Tim Duncun…chose HPU for its Men's Basketball coaching staff as well as its location...in 10 years he would like to be playing professional basketball…currently majoring in Psychology.

Prior to HPU: The 6'10 DeFreitas played the past two seasons at Des Moines Area Community College, appearing in 47 games. He appeared in 20 games as a freshman, averaging 4.4 points and 2.7 rebounds. In his sophomore campaign, he appeared in 27 games, averaging 5.0 points and 4.7 rebounds.
DeFreitas comes over from Essex, England where he played at County Upper High School and was named to East of England Regional Team.

HPU: 2015-16- Played in 28 games, starting 1…saw 15.3 minutes per games while shooting 54% (50-93) from the floor, 100% (1-1) from three-point range and 71% (39-55) at the foul line…scored 140 points (5.0 PPG), grabbed 45 rebounds (3.4 RPG)…tallied 5 assists, 7 steals and 21 blocks.
