Izabella Kunimune joins the Sharks from Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rosa, California. The 5-foot-9 right-handed pitcher is pursuing a degree in Biology at Hawai?i Pacific.

Kunimune enjoyed a standout prep career under head coach Bill Vreeland, earning NBL Oak League Pitcher of the Year honors in 2026. She was also named First Team All-League in three consecutive seasons from 2023 through 2025, establishing herself as one of the top pitchers in her league.

Kunimune chose HPU because it allowed her to combine her dream of living near the beach with the opportunity to stay close to family. Away from softball, she enjoys going to the beach, hiking, creating art, and reading. Looking ahead, she hopes to pursue a career as a pediatrician while continuing to excel both academically and athletically.
