Kemsies became the first HPU student-athlete to earn first teamCoSIDA Academic All-America® honors with his selection to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America® NCAA Division II Men's Soccer First Team.

An international business major now working on his master’s of business administration, Kemsies sports a 3.84 undergraduate grade point average with a 4.00 master’s GPA as he finished his playing career at HPU this fall.
 
The a 6-0 graduate midfielder from Velgast, Germany/ CJD Christophorous Schueler, was named a 2016 All-PacWest First Team performer and to the second team of the D2CCA All-West Region Team. He’s been selected to the All-PacWest Team in each of his four seasons overall. Kemsies led the PacWest and matched the HPU record with 11 assists this season to go with his three goals and 17 points. He is ranked seventh in NCAA Division II in assists per game (0.69) and total assists.
 
Kemsies selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team marks the first for the Sharks since tennis player Petr Michnev was chosen to the second team of the Men’s At-Large Team in 2014. He is the 12th Hawai’i Pacific student-athlete to be named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team and the first from men’s soccer.
