No team at Hawai’i Pacific is hotter right now than Women’s Tennis, thanks in large part to #1 singles player Ielyzaveta Rybakova.  With a combined record of 7-3 so far on the season, the senior from Ukraine has earned  this week’s GoSeaWarriors.com Player of the Week.

On the team’s most recent road trip, Rybakova took down a pair of nationally ranked players in the span of three days. First against Fresno Pacific on March 11th, Rybakova dropped No. 16 Marie Boura in three sets, 0-6, 6-2, 6-3. Just two days later she took down the nation’s second ranked player, Barbora Krtickova, 7-5, 4-6, 7-5.

As the Sea Warriors first singles player, Rybakova constently faces the top players in the nation.Rybakova has also had a strong year with doubles partner Celina Goetti as the pair is off to a 9-1 start at third doubles.

The HPU women return to action on March 23rd against George Fox.
