The Hawai’i Pacific Women’s Volleyball Team is off to a red-hot 4-0 start and a key to their success has been the emergence of freshman sensation Pomai Recca. Through four games this season, Recca is hitting .389 with 57 kills and has been named this week’s Pepsi Player of the Week.

 It hasn’t taken Recca long to adjust to the college game. In just her second collegiate game, the frosh put away 15 kills along with a team-high 12 digs against a very talented Chico State squad. Recca’s best match came over the weekend, in game two of the Hawai’i Invitational, where she dominated Lewis University hitting .441 on her way to notching 18 kills.

The volleyball team now heads to Sonoma, California for the Sea Wolf Spike tournament hosted by Sonoma State University. The Sea Warriors first match will come against San Francisco State on September 13th at 1:30 p.m. PST.
