HONOLULU, HI (September 27, 2013)—The Hawai’i Pacific Men’s Soccer Team has concluded its non-conference schedule, earning a 2-2-1 record against some of the top teams in the NCAA West Region. Senior Felipe Silva is off to a hot start, including two goals in the first half against BYU-Hawaii on Saturday, and has been named this week’s Pepsi Player of the Week.
Silva tallied his third and fourth goals just five minutes apart including a beautiful left footer from just inside the box off a pass from Marius Stensby. The Brazilian’s four goals and one assist are good enough to lead the Pacific West Conference in points per game (1.80) as well as goals scored.
With the non-conference portion of the schedule concluded, the Silva and his teammates head to the mainland for a four game road trip that begins in St. George, Utah against Dixie State University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. MST.
