Altamonte Springs, FL (5/14/10) – At the NCAA Women's Tennis National Championships, the ninth-ranked Lady Sea Warriors fell to top-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State University, 5-0.
HPU closes the season at 21-5 while AAU moves on to the national title game. The Sea Warriors fell in each doubles match en route to the loss. Zora Vlckova and Ingrid Cseh fell in one doubles, 8-2, to Martina Beckman and Alida Muller-Wehlau, and the HPU pair of Aleksandra Stankovic and Sandra Wikstrom was defeated by Gabriella Kovacs and Sona Novakova, 9-7, in two doubles. In three doubles, Tinka Mihova and Nina Mihova were topped by the Armstrong pair of Tina Ronel and Kathleen Henry, 8-6.
Armstrong captured the two and five singles matches to claim the victory. Muller-Wehlau topped Tinka Mihova, 6-2, 6-0 at the two, and Wikstrom suffered a 6-1, 6-4 defeated at five singles to Henry. The remaining matches were left unfinished.
