Glendale, AZ (4/15/10) – In the opening round of the Hawaiian Airlines PacWest Conference Women's Tennis Championships, the second-seeded Lady Sea Warriors defeated Academy of Art University, 5-0. HPU improves to 17-2 overall while the Urban Knights fall to 8-13.

All matches are being played at the Paseo Racquet Club. Ingrid Cseh and Zora Vlckova topped the pair of Laone Botshoma and Diane Phan, 8-1, in one doubles, with Tinka Mihova and Nina Mihova defeating Cecilia Hedin and Maria Tenorio in three doubles by the same score. Aleksandra Stankovic and Sandra Wikstrom won their two doubles match, 8-2.

In singles action, Vlckova and Stankovic captured first and sixth singles, respectively, to win the match for HPU. Vlckova blanked Phan 6-0, 6-0, and Stankovic defeated Hedin by the same score.

The Sea Warriors move on to the semifinal round to take on Chaminade. First serve is set for tomorrow, April 16, at 10:00 a.m.
