Hilo, HI (February 27, 2011) – For the second consecutive day, Hawai'i Pacific beat UH-Hilo 8-1. The Sea Warriors again won all three doubles matches and the first five singles matches. The only difference was that HPU used a different line-up, including Ielyzaveta Rybakova winning in her first match at first singles.
A day after debuting in doubles play, Maria Fagerstrom, a freshman from Helsinki, won at second singles 6-4, 6-3. Aleksandra Stankovic was victorious at third singles after not playing singles yesterday. Carrie Shuler and Sandra Wikstrom both collected their second victories of the weekend.
The first and third doubles teams were new combinations, but both worked. Zora Vlckova and Rybakova won 8-1 at #1 and Fagerstrom and Shuler won 8-4. The Wilkstrom and Stankovic duo won 8-1 at second singles.
HPU next hosts Loyola Marymount at Central Oahu Regional Park on Tuesday at 3 P.M.
