Altamonte Springs, FL (May 12, 2011) – Hawai'i Pacific lost 5-0 to perennial power Armstrong Atlantic in the round of eight. HPU closes the season with a record of 19-6, a season in which it attained the highest national rank in program history and had three players ranked in the top 50 nationally.
Ielyzaveta Rybakova and Aleksandra Stankovic competed at second doubles but dropped an 8-5 decision. First and third doubles were overmatched losing 8-3 and 8-2 respectively.
After losing all three doubles, HPU was unable to comeback from the 3-0 deficit in singles action. Armstrong Atlantic made its fourth point when Celina Goetti was unable to continue and retired. The Pirates took fourth singles to seal the match.
Rybakova won the first set at second singles 6-4, but the match never finished.
