Waipahu, HI (February 28, 2012) – The Hawai'i Pacific women's tennis team (4-1) bounced back after their first loss of the season with a 9-0 win over cross island rival Chaminade University (4-3) on Tuesday at Central Oahu Regional Park.
Ninth ranked
Zora Vlckova went unchallenged at first singles; she quickly defeated Yanita Arnaudova 6-0, 6-1.
Magdalena Smejova won by the same scores but in reverse order, 6-1, 6-0.
Lea Kruse-Utermann and
Carrie Shuler each were perfect at fifth and six singles, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Vivian Hansen provided the day's most entertaing match when she prevailed 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.
Vlckova and Shuler made a clean sweep at third singles with an 8-0 victory. First and second doubles also won, leaving CUH down 3-0 after doubles play.
HPU will next travel to La Jolla, CA to play Barry University on March 9
th at 9 AM PST.
