Waipahu, HI (March 24, 2012) – The fifth ranked Hawai'i Pacific women's tennis team moved to 10-3 on the season with a 9-0 win over West Region rival Sonoma State (6-7). The Sea Warriors totally dominated, with no opponent scoring more than four combined points in a match.
After sitting out yesterday's match,
Zora Vlckova defeated Megan White in under 45 minutes, 6-1, 6-0.
Vivian Hansen and
Ielyzaveta Rybakova also had perfect sets in 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-0 wins.
Magdalena Smejova played at second singles and won (6-1, 6-2) with
Celina Goetti out of the lineup.
Lea Kruse-Utermann and
Carrie Shuler won by identical 6-2, 6-1 scores.
The doubles teams of Hansen/Smejova and Rybakova/Goetti both won by 8-1 scores. Kruse-Utermann and Vlckova played the closest match of the day and won 8-4.
HPU will host UH-Hilo on Monday at 10 AM at Central Oahu Regional Park.
