Waipahu, HI (March 26, 2012) – The fifth ranked Hawai'i Pacific women's tennis team (11-3) are winners of six straight matches after a 9-0 victory over UH-Hilo (3-8). Over the win streak, HPU has dropped just four matches.
This match lacked suspense after HPU's sweep of doubles play. The duo of
Zora Vlckova and
Lea Kruse-Utermann played at second doubles for the second time and won 8-2. The pair is now 10-0 for the season.
Carrie Shuler and
Ielyzaveta Rybakova played together of the first time and were victorious 8-4 at third doubles.
Vivian Hansen and
Magdalena Smejova also won 8-4 and moved their record over .500 at 5-4.
The Sea Warriors took all six singles matches in straight sets, highlighted by a 6-0, 6-0 win by Shuler. Kruse-Utermann, Rybakova, and Hansen all also had one perfect 6-0 set in their wins. Vlckova and Smejova each record their 10th singles victories of the season with their wins.
HPU will again host UH-Hilo on Thursday at Central Oahu Regional Park at 10:00 AM.
