KONA, HI (February 17, 2013)- On Saturday, the Hawai'i Pacific Women's Tennis Team (2-0) beat UH-Hilo (0-2) 9-0. On Sunday, the matchups were changed, but the result remained the same. The Sea Warriors were overpowering again, not losing a set.
The doubles team of
Karen Ramirez and
Lea Kruse-Utermann moved up to first doubles and responded with an 8-1 victory. Yesterday's #1 pair of
Vivian Hansen and
Magdalena Smejova slid to #2 and won 8-2.
Celina Goetti and Liza Rybakova were flawless at the third spot rolling to an 8-0 win.
The Sea Warriors steamrolled the Vulcans in singles action: Goetti, Shuler, Hansen, and Smejova all won 6-0, 6-0. Rybakova had the closest match of the day, and she was hardly tested, winning 6-1, 6-3.
HPU returns to action on February 21st against Chaminade University at 10:00 AM.
