WAIPAHU, HI (March 18, 2013)- The Hawaii Pacific Men's Tennis Team continued its hot start, defeating Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (9-3) by the score of 7-2. The victory moves HPU's record to 9-2 on the season.

The Sea Warriors jumped out to a quick 2-1 lead after doubles play as the duo of Petr Michnev and Gerald Moretti won their match 8-2 over the third ranked team in NCAA Division III. Max Hertl and Jaume Martinez-Vich also cruised to a victory for HPU winning their match 8-1.

HPU was again dominant in its singles matches as four different players won in straight sets. Michnev remained hot winning at first singles 6-1, 6-3 while Haflants defeated the sixth ranked player in D III 6-2, 6-2 at fifth singles.

The HPU men return to action on Wednesday when they face Ouachita Baptist University at Central Oahu Regional Park. The match is set to begin at 11:00 AM.
