SAN DIEGO, CA (March 14, 2014)—The fourth-ranked Hawai`i Pacific Women's Tennis Team (9-1) kicked of its road trip with an 8-1 victory over #22 Cal State Los Angeles in a neutral site match in San Diego on Friday.
 
The Sea Warriors took two of three doubles points as Celina Goetti and Karen Ramirez won 8-1 in second doubles.  Lorena Gheorghe and Magdalena Smejova also won 8-1 at the third position.
 
HPU asserted its depth in singles action, winning all but one match in straight sets. Vivian Hansen took fourth singles 6-3, 6-4 and Lea Kruse-Utermann won 7-5, 6-0 at the fifth spot.
 
The Sea Warriors will return to action tomorrow to face UC San Diego on its home court. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. PST.
