LA JOLLA, CA (March 15, 2014) – The Hawai'i Pacific Women's Tennis Team (10-1) defeated 17th ranked UCSD (7-10) 7-2 in Southern California. The #4 Sea Warriors remain undefeated against Division II teams.   

HPU was able to earn two of the three doubles points with wins in the second and third slots. Celina Goetti/Karen Ramirez waltzed to a 8-1 win while Vivian Hansen/Lea Kruse-Utermann doubled up the competition, 8-4.

Ramirez, playing at first singles, dumped #32 Kyra Scott in straight sets, 7-5 and 6-1. Hansen was perfect at fifth singles winning 6-0, 6-0 in quick fashion. The Sea Warriors clinched the match when Kruse-Utermann won 6-2, 6-2. Magdalena Smejova and Lorena Gheorghe were also untested in their singles match wins.    
 
The Sea Warriors now head to Las Vegas for three matches beginning Monday vs. Fresno Pacific.
