LAS VEGAS, NV (March 17, 2014)—The fifth-ranked Hawai`i Pacific Men's Tennis Team (10-0) picked up an 8-1 victory over #10 Fresno Pacific (10-4) in a rematch of the 2013 Pacific West Championship match on Monday.
The Sea Warriors came out firing in doubles play, sweeping all three matches.
Petr Michnev and
Thibaud Berland took first singles 8-4 while
Adriano Locorotondo and Yann Renaultdid won by the same score at third doubles.
Jaume Martinez-Vich and
Mattis Wetzel cruised in their second doubles match by winning 8-1.
In singles action, Michnev, Martinez-Vich, Berland, and
Clemens Graute each won their matches in straight sets. Locorotondo won the first set of his match 6-0 before his opponent retired due to injury.
The Sea Warriors will return to action tomorrow when they face Midwestern State.
