Las Vegas, NV (March 18, 2014)—The fourth-ranked Hawai,i Pacific Women's Tennis Team (11-1) defeated #14 Fresno Pacific (10-4) 7-2 in Las Vegas on Monday morning.

The Sea Warriors got off to a good start by taking two of three doubles points from the Sunbirds.
Magdalena Smejova and Lorena Gheorghe took second doubles 8-3 while Vivian Hansen and Lea Kruse-Utermann won third doubles by the score of 8-4.

HPU followed its strong performance with a good showing in singles as well.
#34 Celina Goetti won at second singles 6-3, 6-1 as Smejova won at third singles by the same score. Gheorghe won convincingly 6-1, 6-1 in the fourth spot while Kruse-Utermann ground out a well-earned 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 victory at sixth singles.

The Sea Warriors return to action this afternoon against Midwestern State in Las Vegas.
