Las Vegas, NV (March 19, 2014)- The fourth-ranked Hawai`i Pacific Women's Tennis Team (12-2) dropped its first match to a Division II opponent this season, falling 9-0 to #1 Armstrong Atlantic State (13-1) in Las Vegas.

The Pirates jumped on the Sea Warriors early, taking all three doubles points. Celina Goetti and Karen Ramirez had a battle at first doubles, but fell 8-6.

The Sea Warriors looked to swing momentum back in their favor in singles action, but with five nationally-ranked players, the Pirates depth proved to be too much.

Goetti battled back in second singles after dropping the first set, but lost in the tiebreak, 10-6. Vivian Hansen put up a fight in fifth singles, eventually falling 6-4, 6-4.

With the Las Vegas portion of its road trip complete, HPU now heads to Florida to face a trio of top-10 teams beginning with third-ranked Barry University on March 22nd in Miami Shores.
