HONOLULU, HI (February 27, 2015) – Any team would be hard pressed to beat another team more soundly than the Hawai'i Pacific Women's Tennis Team (6-1) did Chaminade (0-7) on Friday afternoon. HPU was not challenged in any match, winning 9-0.
The Sharks only collectively lost one game in all six singles matches.
Kristyna Hancarova,
Lorena Gheorghe,
Vivian Hansen,
Lea Kruse-Utermann, and
Sofia Tavitian all won their matches 6-0, 6-0.
Nicole Hoynaski just missed joining the club at first singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win.
Doubles action was more of the same, with HPU dropping a total of two games. The teams of Gheorghe/Hancarova and Hansen/Tavitian were flawless with 8-0 wins. Kruse-Utermann and Hoynaski had the "toughest" match of the day, an 8-2 win at first doubles.
HPU returns to the court on Wednesday (March 4th) when Division I University of Michigan visits. First serve is at 11:00 am at the University of Hawaii Tennis Complex.
