HONOLULU, HI (March 5, 2015) – The Hawai'i Pacific Men's Tennis Team (4-0) beat UH Hilo (2-9) for the second consecutive time by a score of 7-2 in a match played at Central Oahu Regional Park.
The Sharks established dominance early with a pair of 8-0 wins in doubles from the teams of
Marko Lenz/
Thibaud Berland and
Jaume Martinez-Vich/
Jakub Hadrava. At second doubles,
Clemens Graute and
Yann Renault doubled up the opposition with an 8-4 win.
With the lead firmly in hand, HPU rested Graute and Berland. Still, HPU was strong at the top of the lineup winning at the first four positions. No Shark gave up more than three games while winning in straight sets. Lenz led the way with a convincing 6-2, 6-0 win at first singles. HPU dropped decisions at fifth and sixth singles which is just the third and fourth matches lost by HPU all season.
The Sharks are back on the court tomorrow at 10:00 am at the University of Hawaii Tennis Complex to host Division I UM-Kansas City.
