SAN DIEGO, Calif. (February 29, 2016) – The second-ranked Hawaii Pacific men's tennis team swept Point Loma Nazarene University 9-0 as the Sharks remained perfect on the season.
The Sharks men (4-0) were led by sixth-ranked
Thibaud Berland, who downed 16
th-ranked Andre Staab 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles draw. HPU's
Alexander Meyer notched a win over Martin Blaho in the No. 2 slot, 6-1, 6-4. Eighth-ranked Jaume Martinez Vich was also victorious and dispatched Daniel Milliken 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 3 singles slot.
Torben Otto,
Jakub Hadrava and
Clemens Graute also notched wins in the singles competition for the Sharks.
In doubles action, Meyer and Berland teamed up to down the 25
th-ranked tandem of Milliken and Staab, 8-4. The Sharks also received doubles wins from Dolezel and Martinez Vich (8-3) as well as Hadrava and Otto (8-4).
HPU returns to the court on Tuesday, March 1 against Azusa Pacific University.
