DENVER, Colo. (March 20, 2016) – The ninth-ranked Hawaii Pacific women's tennis team defeated No. 11 Saint Mary's (Tex.) University, 8-1, Sunday morning as the Sharks continued their Mile High road swing.

Kristyna Hancarova defeated No. 19 Jamie Lee Denton 6-1, 7-5 in the top singles slot. In the No. 2 singles position, HPU's 41
st-ranked
Nicole Hoynaski downed No. 45 Cristina Lopez 6-4, 6-1.
Syna Kayser posted a singles victory for HPU by downing Kaylin Kruseman 6-0, 6-4 in the third slot, while fellow Sharks players
Oceane Adam and
Lorena Gheorghe also notched singles wins.
In the top doubles slot, the fourth-ranked team of Hancarova and Hoynaski – recently selected as the top doubles tandem in the West region, a first for the HPU women's program – dominated its matchup with Denton and Kruseman, 8-1. Gheorghe and Kayser defeated Lopez and Hannah Petersen 8-3, while
Julia Sauer and Adam posted an 8-2 victory over Tyra Timm and Kerry Wiegand.
HPU (10-3) will remain in Denver to face Midwestern State (Tex.) University on March 21 and Cameron (Okla.) University on March 22.
