DENVER, Colo. (March 21, 2016) – The ninth-ranked Hawaii Pacific women's tennis team defeated No. 22 Midwestern State (Tex.) University, 7-2, Monday morning as the Sharks continued their five-match Mile High road swing.

Kristyna Hancarova defeated No. 37 Madeline Schorlemmer 6-1, 6-4 in the top singles slot. In the No. 2 singles position, HPU's 41

Nicole Hoynaski downed Eirini Kontaki 6-1, 3-6, (1).
Syna Kayser posted a singles victory for HPU by dispatching Greta Lazzarotto 7-5, 6-2 in the third slot, while fellow Sharks players
Oceane Adam,
Lorena Gheorghe and
Julia Sauer also notched singles wins.
In the top doubles slot, the fourth-ranked team of Hancarova and Hoynaski – recently selected as the top doubles tandem in the West region, a first for the HPU women's program – claimed its matchup with Kontaki and Lindsay Nochowicz, 8-3.
HPU (11-3) will remain in Denver to face Cameron (Okla.) University on March 22 before returning to the Islands.
