PENSACOLA, Fla. (April 10, 2016) – The top-ranked Hawaii Pacific men's tennis team was downed by No. 3 Armstrong State (Ga.) University 5-2 as the Sharks wrapped up their Florida road swing at Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex.
The Sharks dropped to 14-3 on the campaign, while the Pirates improved to 17-2.
HPU senior
Thibaud Berland continued his undefeated run in singles action and the top-ranked player in the country improved to 14-0 with a 6-4, 6-3 win over No. 22 Otakar Lucak. Berland is a two-time PacWest Player of the Week, and last season, was named ITA All-American and PacWest Newcomer of the Year.

Jaume Martinez-Vich was also victorious in singles action and defeated Luca Cerin 7-6, 6-3.
HPU's top-ranked doubles tandem of Berland and
Alexander Meyer was upset by the team of Alberto Cases and Jan Porteset, 8-5. The No. 1 duo is now 15-2 this season.
The Sharks will now prepare for the PacWest Championships in Surprise, Ariz., which run April 13-16.
