PENSACOLA, Fla. (April 9, 2016) – The ninth-ranked Hawaii Pacific women's tennis team posted a 5-2 road victory over No. 6 West Florida and improved to 13-3 with one more regular-season match to play.
HPU's top-ranked doubles team of
Kristyna Hancarova (sophomore from Karvina, Czech Republic) and
Nicole Hoynaski (junior from Sydney, Australia) improved to 14-1 on the season after the tandem raced past Nina Bubelova and Paula Lopez, 8-2.
Lorena Gheorghe and
Syna Kayser also picked up a doubles victory as the duo edged Katarina Dikosavljevic 9-7.
Gheorghe, Kayser and
Oceane Adam notched singles wins to help propel HPU to the victory. Kayser turned in an impressive 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Bubelova.
The Sharks women play Armstrong State on April 10 before heading to next week's PacWest Championships in Surprise, Ariz.
