Sharks Kurahasi-Choy Foo Named PacWest Freshman of the Week

IRVINE, Calif. – Hawai'i Pacific University middle infielder Dylan Kurahasi-Choy Foo has been named the PacWest Conference Baseball Freshman of the Week for his performance against Fresno Pacific and Concordia Irvine last week.
 
Kurahasi-Choy Foo, a freshman from Waimanalo, Hawai'i/Kailua hit .500 for the week while starting all three games that he played. He was 4-for-8 with a double, two walks, an RBI and two runs scored, while posting a .947 fielding percentage at shortstop and second base. For the season he's hitting .321 with four doubles, a triple and two stolen bases.
 
Joining Kurahasi-Choy Foo in winning PacWest awards are Concordia Irvine's Cooper Moore as Player of the Week and Hawai'i Hilo's Kyle Alcorn as Pitcher of the Week.
 
The Sharks continue their southern California road trip with a doubleheader today (Monday) at Concordia Irvine, then go to Azusa Pacific for a four-game set starting with a single game on Thursday at 2 p.m. HST (5 p.m. PDT).
