HONOLULU – Hawai'i Pacific University outfielder
Sean Coffey has been voted to the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District® 8 Division II Baseball Team.
The Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
For spring sports in 2020, career achievements were used for consideration since most sports had their seasons ended very early due when athletics were shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Coffey, a 6-0 outfielder from Boise, Idaho/Centennial, has a 3.80 grade point average in Business Administration. He posted a career batting average of .362 with 12 doubles and a triple in about one-and-a third season, with an on-base percentage of .439, a slugging percentage of .425, and a fielding percentage of .954. He was fifth in the PacWest in batting average in 2019 at .376 and was a PacWest Player of the Week as well.
Coffey now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot, with Academic All-America® Division II honorees to be announced June xx. The Division II CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2019-20 Divisions II Academic All-America® programs.
