HONOLULU — The Hawai'i Pacific University Athletic Department will make its video web streaming service free for its home sporting events held between January and May, 2021.
Through its partnership with video provider Stretch Internet, Sharks women's and men's basketball, women's and men's soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball games played at HPU facilities may be viewed free of charge.
"Since we will not be able to have fans in attendance at our home sporting events because of the COVID pandemic, we wanted to make it as easy as possible to view our games," said
Sam Moku, HPU Executive Director of Athletics and Community Relations. "By making the viewing free, this is our contribution to give back to our community."
Fans can view the games via a link on the team schedules at hpusharks.com, or by going to the HPU Stretch Live page at
https://portal.stretchinternet.com/hpusharks/
The service is only good for HPU home events as the Sharks opponents hold the streaming rights games played on the road.
The first games to be streamed will be the Sharks hosting Chaminade this weekend. The No. 3 HPU women face the Silverswords at noon on Saturday and Sunday, while the Sharks men take on Chaminade at 3 p.m. both days.
