EUGENE, Ore. – Hawai'i Pacific University Acrobatics and Tumbling has closed out their 2022 season at the NCATA Event Finals at the University of Oregon's Matthew Knight Arena.
The Sharks qualified for eight of the fifteen events including all three of the team Tumbling Heats. Although there were no champions crowned from HPU, there was a runner-up in the Quad Pass. The Sharks posted a 7.20 out of 9.40 due to a pair of falls in the heat losing to Quinnipiac who scored and 8.775 out of 9.60.
For the remaining events, HPU struggled to keep up with the tough competition. They did find themselves in fourth place of the Synchronized Pyramid event behind Gannon, Quinnipiac, and Oregon.
Finally, the women found themselves tied for third in the Open Heat of the Toss Event notched at a 9.275 with APU.
As far as total wins, Azusa found themselves on top with five victories followed by Baylor with four and Gannon with three.
The Sharks close out the 2022 season and look forward to what might be in the 2023 season.
