Box Score HONOLULU – The Hawaii Pacific University women's tennis team fell in their first dual match of 2023 to East Tennessee State University 6-2, Friday morning at the UH Tennis Complex.
 
The Buccaneers opened the match in doubles, winning on Court #1 and Court #2. The Sharks duo of Nicole Ballach and Abagail Wild secured a point by defeated ETSU's Emilia Alfaro and Yunuen Elizarraras, 6-3.
 
Elodie Busson recorded her first singles win of the season, defeating Mariyah Shumeika in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2. But that was all she wrote as ETSU cleaned up the rest of the four singles matches.
 
Up next for the Sharks are San Jose State on Friday, Jan. 20 at 10:00 A.M. HT at the UH Tennis Complex.
