KAHUKU, Hawai'i. - On Saturday morning at the HPU Invitational, the Hawai'i Pacific University men's and women's cross country teams closed the 2023 regular season and honored their three seniors,
Joseph Moran,
Zamira Broadhurst-Hall, and
Kent Glover.
In the men's 8k invite race,
Angel Aviles earned his second consecutive podium finish as he was the runner up of the men's 8k with a time of 29:44. Glover followed close behind in third and
Jonah Sheridan would finish sixth for the Sharks.
The women's 6k invitational saw
Carly Dyer finish 10th in the field of 32 athletes with a time of 26:03. Broadhurst-Hall was the next Shark to cross the finish line with a time of 27:27 with
Anna Hildebrand finishing five seconds later. Genevieve Gualtieri and
Maya Pompel would round out the scoring five for HPU as they would place second behind University of Hawai'i.
HPU will continue their training block for the next two weeks as they gear up for the PacWest Cross Country Championships in Fresno on October 21st.
