Baseball Earns PacWest Team of the Week Honor

IRVINE, Calif. - The PacWest conference announced their weekly baseball honors Tuesday morning with HPU collecting the Team of the Week award.

The Sharks who were voted preseason number seven in the PacWest took that to heart in the first conference series sweeping Biola four games straight. 

Hawaii Pacific pitching found its stride this weekend with Friday starter Jack O'Brien going seven innings in his outing and Andrew Hauck going 6.1 innings later in the weekend. This coming after a week of torrential downpours, canceled games, practices, and bullpen sessions.

Bats were also hot for the Sharks as well with Kota Suzuki going 7-for-14 and scoring six runs on the weekend.

The Sharks welcome in Concordia next who went 1-3 in their first weekend against Hilo. The first pitch of the two-day doubleheader series is slated for Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. HT.
