HONOLULU – The Hawaii Pacific University Acrobatics and Tumbling edged out Mary Hardin-Baylor 270.645-268.680 on Thursday evening at the Mayborn Campus Center.

The Sharks (2-0) took the victory over the Cru (2-1) by less than two points and have won their first two meets of the season for the first time in program history.

HPU took the early advantage over UMHB in the compulsory event with a total 37.40 compared to the Crus' 36.25.

The Sharks scored six more nine or better scores between the Acro and Pyramid events to take a slim halftime lead.

Continuing after the break, the Sharks were bested in the toss by .35 points. They regained those deductions back in the Tumbling event and it came down to the final team routines.
