KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The No. 13 Hawai'i Pacific acrobatics and tumbling team earned a convincing victory over Kutztown on Tuesday evening, defeating the Golden Bears 250.905–213.460.
Hawai'i Pacific set the tone early by winning the compulsory event with a score of 37.10 compared to Kutztown's 33.60. The Sharks posted strong scores across all four heats, including a 9.50 in the pyramid heat and a 9.40 in the toss heat.
In the acro event, Hawai'i Pacific totaled 23.70 points, highlighted by a 9.10 score in the five-element heat. The Sharks continued to build their lead in the pyramid event, finishing with 28.05 points. The open pyramid heat led the way with a 9.70 score.
The Sharks also led the toss event with 25.90 points, including a 9.35 in the open toss heat.
Hawai'i Pacific delivered another strong performance in the tumbling event, finishing with 51.425 points. The Sharks recorded their highest score in the six-element pass with a 9.425 and added a 9.350 in the open pass.
The Sharks closed the meet with an 84.730 in the team event to secure the overall victory and even their record at 1-1 on the season.
