HONOLULU - The Hawaii Pacific Men's Basketball has added another major piece to an already impressive incoming class. The Sharks have signed Charlie Weber, a Division I transfer from East Tennessee State University. Charlie has spent 4 years at ETSU but will still have 2 years left of eligibility for HPU. 

The 6'9 forward missed the 2022-23 season due to injuries, but the year prior he averaged 5.5 points per game while appearing in 24 games. He added 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting 54% from the field. He is a career 33% 3PT shooter at ETSU. In his first collegiate start vs Lenoir-Rhyne, Charlie netted 17 points and 4 rebounds in just 24 minutes of play. He was also a member of the 2019-20 ETSU team that went 30-4 on the season and went on to win the Southern Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships. 

 "I chose HPU because I felt wanted by the staff. The opportunity to be in a new environment like Hawaii was one I couldn't pass up!" said Charlie Webber. "I'm excited to get on campus and help this program win!"

Interim Head Coach Nakanishi added, "We're ecstatic to have Charlie joining our program here at HPU. Charlie brings high-level Division I experience, a multifaceted skill-set and a commitment to winning. As a 6'9 versatile athlete, our fans will love Charlie's energy, his physicality down low and his ability to shoot the long ball!"
