HPU Men’s Soccer Falls to Stanislaus State 2-0

Waipio, HI – The HPU men's soccer team faced a tough 2-0 defeat against Stanislaus State on September 14, 2024, at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium in Waipahu, Hawaii. Despite creating numerous opportunities, HPU was unable to convert, leaving them still searching for their first win of the season with an 0-3-0 record, while Stanislaus State improved to 3-1-0.

The match started evenly, with both teams going into halftime scoreless. HPU outshot Stanislaus State 6-3 in the first half, but key saves by Stanislaus State's goalkeeper kept HPU off the board. In the second half, the deadlock was broken in the 73rd minute when Jacob Ramirez scored to give Stanislaus State the lead. Just minutes later, HPU's Sebastian Navarro was issued a yellow card, which added tension to the final stretch of the game. Stanislaus State doubled their lead late in the 87th minute, with Marco Carbajal scoring off an assist from Alecxander Cuellar.
