Sharks Fall To Augustana In Final Meet Of The Year

Sharks Host Augustana in Competitive NCATA Meet

Honolulu, HI – The Hawaii Pacific University Acrobatics & Tumbling team took to the mat at home on March 13th, hosting Augustana University in an exciting NCATA matchup. Despite a strong effort and notable highlights, the Sharks ultimately fell short, with Augustana taking the win, 265.590 to 245.505.

Compulsory Event

The meet kicked off with the Compulsory event, where both teams showed sharp execution. Augustana edged out HPU with a total of 37.650 to the Sharks' 37.500. Hawaii Pacific's strongest showing came in the Acro heat, where they posted a 9.150 to outscore Augustana's 9.000. Both teams were evenly matched in the Toss heat, tying at 9.850.

Acro Event

In the Acro event, Augustana pulled ahead with consistent scores across all three heats, totaling 28.650. Hawaii Pacific struggled to match, finishing with 26.950. The standout for the Sharks was Heat 2, where they scored a 9.200, showing solid form and synchronization.

Pyramid Event

Augustana maintained their momentum in the Pyramid event. The Sharks delivered a strong performance in Heat 2 with a 9.200 and a close Heat 3 at 9.750, but Augustana's near-flawless execution earned them a 29.100 to HPU's 26.600.

Toss Event

HPU showed resilience in the Toss event, highlighted by an 8.950 in Heat 3. Despite the effort, Augustana extended their lead with a total of 28.600 to Hawaii Pacific's 26.450.

Tumbling Event

The Tumbling event featured some of HPU's best individual performances of the day. The Sharks shined in Heat 5, with a 9.550 score, and followed it up with an impressive 9.500 in Heat 6. Still, Augustana's consistency across the board pushed them to a 53.750 total, while Hawaii Pacific tallied 51.875.

Team Event

In the final Team Event, the Sharks earned a score of 76.130. Augustana closed out strong with an 87.840 to seal the victory.
