Honolulu, HI - Hawaii Pacific Baseball has announced that
Zachary Swanson will join the staff as the pitching coach for the 2025-26 season.
Swanson is entering his first season with the Sharks as the Pitching Coach. He played collegiately for five years, with the latter three as a primary bullpen arm for the Park University-Gilbert Buccaneers, where he posted 33 strikeouts in 43 innings pitched and a 5.44 ERA. Swanson has spent his last two years as the Pitching Coordinator/Head Pitching Coach at Skyline High School in east Mesa, where the program posted their best team ERA since 2017. Swanson has an extensive background in baseball, including involvement with the Victoria HarbourCats and Nanaimo NightOwls of the summer collegiate West Coast League.
After a successful 2025 season, the HPU coaching staff is ready to take the final step toward the goal of winning a PacWest Championship, and are thrilled to have Swanson lead the pitching staff:
"We are excited to officially welcome Zach and Maddie into our HPU Baseball Ohana. Zach is an extremely bright human and is passionate about developing pitchers. We've really been waiting for someone like Zach with his type of energy, passion, and knowledge to kick our pitching development into the next gear. Having someone like him to lead our pitchers will bring us closer to our goal of bringing a PacWest Championship back to downtown Honolulu."
