Honolulu Hawaii - It was a challenging weekend for the Hawaii Pacific Sharks, who dropped back-to-back matches to McKendree on their home sand. But across both days, the Sharks showed the competitive grit and resilience that their program is building on, pushing hard against a McKendree side that came in with plenty of experience

On Monday, HPU opened the series and competed hard across all five courts. The closest battle came at court three, where Alayna Grinstead and Jordyn McCutcheon pushed McKendree's Amber Williams and Abby Hickman deep into the second set before eventually falling 27–25

At court two, Lindsey Tapp and Peyton McBride made McKendree work for every point in a 21–18 opening set.

McKendree came away with a 5 - 0 sweep of the Sharks on Monday.

Tuesday brought the weekend's defining moment for HPU. Acchione and McBride moved up to court three came out swinging and stunned the McKendree pair of Williams and Hickman in the first set, 21–15. Williams and Hickman recovered to take the match, but the Sharks had made their point. Acchione and McBride forced a deciding set and competed until the final whistle, a performance that will give HPU's coaching staff plenty of encouragement heading into the rest of the season.

Also on Tuesday, Tapp this time paired with Jordan Pascone pushed McKendree's top doubles team of Samantha Coe and Audrey Bennett to the absolute limit. Both sets went beyond 21, with Coe and Bennett eventually escaping 22–20 and 23–21.

Although HPU showed some fight Mckendree came away with the win 5 - 0 on Tuesday.

The Sharks will have near a month to learn and bounce back with their next matchup being against Santa Clara University on April 10th.
