Kyra Tanabe, a 5’4 guard from Hawai‘i Kai, returns home to the Islands after competing at Chadron State College under coach Travis Brewster. A product of ‘Iolani School, Tanabe was coached by Dean Young and Cy Ohta, where she excelled across basketball, volleyball, and track. On the hardwood, she helped the Raiders capture multiple ILH and Hawai‘i State Championships, earning ILH Second Team honors and the prestigious Walter Goo Award for leadership and character. At HPU, Tanabe continues her basketball journey while representing her home state.
