Kyla Hopton begins her collegiate career with Hawai‘i Pacific this season after a standout high school journey across both California and Hawai‘i. She played at Redondo Union High School under coach Marcelo Enriquez during her freshman, sophomore, and senior years, helping lead the Sea Hawks to a 2023–24 CIF Bay League Championship with a perfect 10-0 record. In between, Hopton attended Kapaa High School on Kaua‘i, where she served as co-captain of the Warriors’ 2022–23 KIF and HHSAA Division II State Championship team that finished 12-0. Following high school, she attended the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa but did not compete in basketball. This season marks her first year of collegiate basketball with the Sharks.
