Royal Kekuewa is a center midfielder from Kapolei, Hawai‘i. A graduate of Kamehameha High School Kapalama, he played under coach Uri Barron Silva while competing at the prep level. Born in Kailua, Royal chose HPU for its location and the opportunity to continue his soccer career close to home. Off the field, he enjoys bodyboarding, playing the ukulele and guitar, and spending time outdoors. His favorite foods include eggs, bacon, and cereal, and his favorite movies are Cars and Surf’s Up. He listens to artists such as Maoli, Bob Marley, and Ka‘au Crater Boys, and looks up to Cristiano Ronaldo as his role model athlete. Looking ahead, Royal hopes to be happy, wealthy, and raising a family in 10 years.
