Baseball Falls in Series Opener

Waipahu, HI (February 22, 2011) – The Sea Warriors could not overcome an early deficit against Northwest Nazarene and lost 6-2. A two-run homer by Blake Amaral in the sixth accounted for Hawai'i Pacific's offense. HPU is now 1-4

Starter Michael Greene gave up five runs in the first two innings, then settled in, pitching six innings giving up six runs, four earned. The defense did not help, committing seven errors. Both teams were limited to five hits.

J.T. Brodrick got the win for NNU, who is now 7-0.

Jeremy Fujimoto pitched two and a third innings in relief, giving up no hits and striking out four. Wade Tamaru and Keanu Kapana each doubled for HPU, while Troy Ajer tripled.

Tonight's match-up was game one of a six games series, game two is another single game on Wednesday at Hans L'Orange, starting at 6 P.M.
