Waipahu, HI (March 26, 2012) – The 21st ranked Hawai'i Pacific men's tennis team (8-3) rolled to a 9-0 win over visiting UH-Hilo on Monday. The Sea Warriors were dominant and won every set, UH-Hilo would score no more than three points.
HPU, now 3-0 against UHH, set the tone with a dominating display in doubles play. HPU lost just two combined points in the doubles sweep. The team of Gerald Moretti and
Ji Hoon Heo were perfect at third doubles in the 8-0 win. The first and second doubles teams of

Adriano Locorotondo/
Georgi Yordanov both met little resistance in 8-1 wins.
The region's top ranked team also controlled singles play, winning all matches in straight sets. Locorotondo was locked in at fourth singles and won 6-0, 6-0. Moretti just missed perfection with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Yordanov got a rare opportunity to play first singles and won after his opponent retired due to injury. This moved third ranked Michnev to second singles were he won 6-1, 6-1. Guenther continued his strong play with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Kallen Mizuguchi in the third slot.
Stephan Weling played the closest match of the day, a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
The Sea Warriors and Vulcans will meet again on Thursday at 10 AM at Central Oahu Regional Park.
