Box Score KANEOHE, HI (October 12, 2013)—The Hawai`i Pacific Men's Soccer Team (5-3-2, 3-1-1) kicked of its six-game home stand with a 2-2 tie against Notre Dame de Namur (4-5-2, 1-2-2) in a muddy, rain-soaked affair on Saturday.

Before the opening whistle was even blown, a steady rain further drenched an already saturated Atherton Field. Undeterred, the Sea Warriors still got off to a quick start.

Just 4:37 in to the game, HPU defender
Daniel Haehre played a brilliant long pass from
Marius Stensby drawing penalty kick after a rough foul in the box. Pacific West Conference goals leader
Brais Garcia would put the penalty away to give HPU an early 1-0 lead.

The Sea Warriors struck again with less than a minute remaining in the half when freshman
Erik Kemsies beat the Argonaut's goalkeeper after receiving a pass from
Felipe Silva. The 2-0 lead would hold until the break.

In the second half, NDNU struck early tying the game with goals in the 47
th and 56
th minutes.

Both sides would have its chances in the remainder of the period, but each keeper made a pair of tough saves down the stretch to keep their teams in it.

HPU nearly took the lead in the 86th minute when Garcia and Silva had the Argonaut goalkeeper scrambling out of the net, but failed to put the ball away.

After a pair of scoreless overtime periods, the game would end in a 2-2 tie.

Mael Lefebvre was solid in net for HPU making four tough saves.

Garcia was a constant thorn in NDNU's side leading the way with five shots on the day.

Chris Fisher commented on his team losing an early 2-0 lead.

"Playing at home with a 2-0 lead needs to be a done deal. NDNU has good players with pride and we let them get back in the game."

Looking ahead Fisher added, "We have to put full games together if we want to win the conference and have a shot at the NCAAs."

The Sea Warriors return to action on Monday, October 14
th to face conference leader Fresno Pacific at Atherton Field. Kick off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
