LAIE, HI (November 6, 2013)—Despite playing nearly half the match a man down, the Hawai`i Pacific Men's Soccer Team (8-5-3, 6-3-2) earned a 0-0 tie against rivals BYU-Hawaii (8-3-4, 6-2-3) on Wednesday.

The match was a chippy affair with officials handing out seven yellow cards, two red cards, and whistling 32 fouls between the two teams.

The match played evenly in the first half with HPU holding a slight advantage in shots, 5-4.

The trajectory of the match changed in the second half when a hard tackle by HPU defender
Kamali Webson resulted in a red card, putting them a man down in the 60
th minute

Despite the disadvantage, the Sea Warriors actually outshot the Seasiders over the remaining 30 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of overtime.

After 110 minutes of battle the game finished in a scoreless tie.

The Sea Warriors finished the match with a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal with
Erik Kemsies and
Brais Garcia each registering two apiece.

Mael Lefebvre picked up his sixth shut out of the season after stopping all five shots he faced.

Chris Fisher commented on his team earning the tie, "I am proud of my team. Playing a man down against a good BYUH team at their place is a tall task. We still wanted the win and in my opinion had the best chances to do it."

The Sea Warriors wrap up the regular season at Chaminade on November 9
th. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
