AIEA, HI (October 8, 2014) - The Hawai'i Pacific Men's Golf Team suffered a close loss in the Oahu Tri-Match hosted by Chaminade University which spanned October 7th and 8th.
Wednesday was the final round of the two day tournament between the three oahu teams of BYU-Hawaii, Chamainde, and the Sharks. The second round was played at the Pearl Country Club, which has a par of 72.
BYU-H took first place in the tournament, scoring a 587 overall and taking home the win. Chaminade was consistent throughout the tournament scoring a 295 both days, resulting in a 590 which just squeaked out second place. The Sharks didn't have their best day, shooting a 304, which dropped them down to a 595 and a third place finish.
Kevin Goldstein took a solid first round into day two scoring a 72 on day one and 73 on day two, putting his overall individual score at 145 and tying him for fourth in the tournament. Alec Fourie also had a good day on day two shooting a 75, which put his total to 147 on the tournament. The 75 on day two was good for sixth in the round.
HPU will host the next Oahu Tri-Match (three rounds) on October 21st and October 22nd.
